Deep within the enchanting rolling meadows, resided website a young shepherd. His existence was unadulterated, and unsophisticated. His primary duty was mainly to care for his flock of sheep.
Their low murmuring and the murmuring of the gales across the solo tree on the mountaintop were his main co-dwellers. Day after day, guarding his responsibilities instilled in him a sense of tranquil contentment.
Yet, there were the occasional moments of solitude, when the shepherd boy would pine for company. During one such occasion out of sheer tedium, the shepherd boy conceived a mischievous plot.

One afternoon he dashed into the village shouting “Wolf! A wolf is that has taken my sheep!” The scared villagers sprinted up the hills for rescue but found no wolf.
The boy chuckled at the puzzle on their faces. This trick persisted for a few days more. Yet, one noon, a real wolf did attack the flock. The shepherd boy raced for aid shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one came.
Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his flock. Devastated, he went back to the village only to be met with a lesson on honesty and the repercussions of crying wolf.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the value of honesty, the consequences of lying and the perils of false alarms. Moreover, it emphasizes how trust once broken, is tough to earn back. It's a story as relevant today as it was then.
